DOB: August 8, 2009

BIO: Obama is one of our many miracles at Bright Kids Uganda. His mother, an alcoholic, contracted tuberculosis when she was pregnant with Obama. His father, a man from Western Kenya is also an alcoholic with HIV/AIDS. His mother was unable to care for him properly.  When Obama first arrived at Bright Kids, he couldn’t walk and his belly was so swollen that he was in constant discomfort.  At Bright Kids, Obama was de-wormed and began a feeding program to decrease his swollen belly. However, he still remained in poor health and Victoria was getting no answers from the many doctors that Obama had seen. Recently, Obama was officially diagnosed with tuberculosis and has begun a course of medication to last 6 months. His mood and demeanor has already changed. He can now be seen playing with the other young Bright Kids.
